RF Server
NEC’s RF Server is an in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that is designed for larger area or for dense and high-traffic environments such as convention centers, high-rise buildings and airports. RF Server, which is integrated to Node-B, provides high quality and wide coverage in buildings. This solution consists of three active units: Main Hub (M-Hub), Expansion Hub (E-Hub) and Remote Access Unit (RAU). The minimum configuration is one (1) M-Hub, one (1) E-Hub, and one (1) RAU; 1-1-1 configuration. The maximum configuration is one (1) M-Hub, four (4) E-Hubs, and 32 RAUs; 1-4-32 configuration.
There are more demands for high-speed data communication, which is one of the 3G services, especially inside buildings. Offering Automatic Gain Control (AGC) for compensating cable loss and excellent uplink Noise Figure (NF) for keeping wide coverage in higher speed data, RF Server enables easy RF design therefore, saves time and money. Especially, that is more effective in large buildings where many antennas are required.

RF Server has software configurable function and uses industry standard, CAT 5/6 Cablings, effectively. Moreover, RAU is light (< 1kg) and does not require separate power supply cable. These features realize easy installation and provide flexibility against changing needs. For example, it is possible to introduce this solution to floors with higher necessity first in order to save initial cost, and then gradually add the units to other floors upon customer’s judgment.

RF Server reduces the total cost and gain user satisfaction at once.

Features

  • Output power: D/L +15dBm
  • Gain range: D/L 0~15dB, U/L 0~15dB (1dB step)
  • Size and Weight:
    M-Hub W 440 mm x D 305 mm x H 44.5 mm , < 3kg
    E-Hub W 440 mm x D 305 mm x H 89.0 mm , < 5kg
    RAU W 305 mm x D 158 mm x H 44.5 mm , < 1kg
Features
  • Excellent uplink NF enables coverage over larger area; gives high quality for indoor environment to support 3G high-speed data, multi-media & voice services; and increases handset battery life.
  • Easier coverage design/planning due to a constant level of downlink power from RAU
  • Double Star System Architecture, hub-centered two-layer cabling, offers flexibility and scalability
  • Significantly reduces time and money for cable installation due to LAN cabling scheme
  • Easy installation/ reconfiguration of RAU due to unnecessary installation of separate power supply cable
